About The Seminar
The seminar aims to promote intellectual discussion on the dynamic interplay between India's newly restructured criminal law, highlighted by the enactment of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, and the foundational linguistic and jurisprudential influences of the American legal system.
In an increasingly globalised legal landscape, the convergence of legal cultures and languages plays a crucial role in shaping modern criminal justice mechanisms. This seminar will bring together distinguished legal scholars, jurists, policymakers, practitioners, and students to critically assess how the precision, precedent-based reasoning, and persuasive jurisprudence of American legal language either align with or contrast against India's post-reform criminal law.
The event seeks to bridge comparative legal scholarship and explore the commonalities and differences in legal language that impact legislative drafting, courtroom advocacy, procedural interpretation, and global legal education.

- To explore the influence and relevance of the American legal system in Indian criminal jurisprudence.
